Shanghai Godfather

So this is another foreign flick with subtitles. If you don't know, I have no problem with that. On paper this movie sounded really cool. A dude is hired to watch over the mob boss's mistress and they end up in a sorta gang war. However in reality it ends up being more about the emotions of the mistress than the actual "war". But even those feelings are barely touched upon. She says a few things about how she always wanted to be somebody and that sorta thing, but for me, I didn't have enough sympathy towards her to care if she made it out alive or not. I did like the guy who played the character of the boss. But he is not what we in America expect from a "boss". In other words he's no Brando.
